Volunteering at the Chitwan Landseed Clinic was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The people in Chitwan have very little in the way of material possessions, and the majority do not have access to clean water, necessary nutrients, and healthcare. However, they are some of the kindest and most generous people I have met. They were so grateful for our services and even invited the volunteers to participate in their religious ceremonies and to eat with them at their homes. I felt that I truly made a difference in their lives, which is one of the most uplifting feelings.

In addition to the healthcare service, Dr. Hsu also provided the volunteers an opportunity to explore a bit of Nepal. We spent the night at Chitwan National Park and were able to see all kinds of animals and watch a local dance performance. In addition, we spent a couple days in Nepal’s capital city, Kathmandu, and visited some local landmarks, such as famous Buddhist temples. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I hope to have the opportunity to volunteer at the Chitwan Landseed Clinic again in the future.
