The greatest among you shall be the servant" Matthew 23:11. Although this trip to Nepal is for humanitarian assistance and medical service, it is also full of unexpected, challenging things. From the busy down town Kathmandu to the hidden mountain villages, the beautiful landscape give me an impressing view of this unique culture. But though the beauty of this country indeed open up my eyes, perhaps the journey's greatest influence on me lies on my renewal attitude.

It all starts from the medical service we gave at local Landseed hospital. The jobs range from easy registration to the complicated medicine handling that requires professional skills. With only 8 people, we have to examine about 80 patients per day. The first day work left me tired and worn out. One especially challenging moment is to wash the hair full of lice. For me, this type of job is uncomfortable and definitely not my favorite. It forces me to step out of my comfort zone and experience new things. Though it is indeed difficult, all the hard works are paid off when that sweet smile appears on the face of the patient. The value of that smile, full of genuine gratitude and satisfaction, is beyond any earthly things.

Of course, many other things give me a wonderful memory here in Nepal, include the elephant riding, Himalayans mountain flight, canoeing, and jungle safari, but the people here is the true reason that causes me to fall in love with this place. Their relentless gratitude, even when living in poverty, is truly inspiring. The hard-working attitude they exhibit also serves as a great motivation for me, pushing me to test the limit that seems impossible to reach before. Last, the trip taught me what it means to be a servant- to put down one's self and devote wholly, with love and compassion, for the sake of the others.
