Everyday in life, from the moment we wake up to the moment we sleep,  we subconsciously take things for granted. This is what I experienced on another journey to Nepal. We take for granted the better healthcare in Taiwán, and the less polluted air. We take for granted the water we use every day or the smooth roads that we travel on. We take for granted the electricity and the power and the stronger wifi signals available.  Having been once to Nepal, I knew of the sacrifices that I would have to make. I had experienced it once, after all. When we got to the medical center and started working, it was again a line of people waiting to be medically examined. From women to children to the elderly, it was the same situation as it was when I last visited Nepal. Every day, we would treat approximately 30~50 people of all ages, with most of them needing vitamin B tablets or having stomach pains. Most of the patients that came in also had serious skin itches, with the worst case being a little girl who had scratched until the wound covered half of her leg and had hints of puss. I was eager to help more and more every day, and like everyone on the team, we were passionate about our goal! Overall, we helped more than 100 patients in our time at Nepal!  Looking back, I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in the medical missions in Nepal during my Christmas break. It made me more firm in my decision to pursue a medical career and ended the year in a way I could have never imagined! If other people asked me what was one thing you could take away from 2017, I would say the irreplaceable experience of a medical mission in Nepal! I could never have ended 2017 as awesome as this!
